Designer Profile: ACP Studio

ACP Studio is a Sydney based interior design practice specialising in interior architecture projects. We speak with Head Interior Designer Amanda, about her work, and her recent project Alabasta House featuring Studio Pip.
Please provide a brief description of your business and the services you offer:
ACP Studio is a full service interior design studio specialising in private residential projects providing interior architecture services for new build homes and renovations as well as interior decoration services for established homes.
Do you have a common theme or style that is showcased in your work? If so, what is it?
We believe every single project is unique and we carefully consider our client’s personal taste along with any existing architecture to drive the theme or style. We do tend to showcase natural materials and textures in most projects as this almost always results in a timeless and authentic feeling final product.
Where do you find new inspiration for each project?
We are constantly immersed in new products and finishes which tend to find themselves in our projects if they inspire us. Considering this, the main source of inspiration is the existing architecture which ensures that any additions or changes do the existing space justice and honour the original intention of the architect or designer.

How do new clients find you?
Our lovely clients are generally recommended to us by family and friends or by some stroke of fate happen to land on our website and get in touch with us from there.
Please provide a brief overview about this project?
Our clients purchased their home with the intention of updating the existing kitchen, living, dining and master en-suite bathroom as these areas were in need of a little bit of love before they moved in. The owners had a goal of brightening and modernising the existing space which aligned with the existing home which has quite a modern feel to it.
What was your highlight working on this project?
Our highlight was and always is our client’s reaction to the final result, there is nothing more satisfying than translating your client’s plans for their home into a reality.

What are your favourite things about Studio Pip?
Supporting Australian makers and designers wherever possible is one of the core values that encompass ACP Studio as a business. Studio Pip represents authenticity in design, materiality and good quality.
What Studio Pip products did you use for this project?
The Harper Deep Sofa and Stella Armchair.
What are some of your favourite features of these products?
Both of the pieces we used in our Alabaster House project featured robust solid oak timber and beautiful upholstery while also being characterised with soft curves and playful design details which appealed to our client and their young family.

If applicable, what are some of the features of the upholstery used and why was this selected?
We selected the always beautiful Mokum Pure fabric in duck egg for The Harper Sofa which has a refined texture, balancing between earthy and sophisticated. We also used a soft tan full aniline leather to provide a feeling of warmth to the Stella Armchair which was complemented by the solid oak timber frame.
