CARE & MAINTENANCE

The following information does not form part of the warranty conditions but is intended to provide general advice. Always refer to the manufacturers care label for specific guidelines as to product care and maintenance.

Regular care is required to maintain the beauty and finish of your furniture. Please be mindful where you place your furniture. Avoid direct sunlight; keep away from heat, harsh chemicals, sharp objects, and pets. Be careful to avoid dragging when moving furniture.

  • Fabric

Some fabrics require regular vacuuming to remove dust, dirt, and any escaped feathers. For professional cleaning refer to the fabric manufacturers care instructions. Ensure that you treat spills and stains immediately, according to the manufacturer's advice.

  • Leather

Leather requires a regular wipe over with a clean damp cloth to remove particles which can work into the hide and scuff with wear. Creases, stretch marks, scars, and insect bites that the animal acquired during its life are natural traits of leather. Always refer to the manufacturers care instructions.

  • Cushions

Cushions require regular shaping and rotating where possible to maintain their form. It is natural that over time cushion fillings will settle, and seat foams will soften. Loose covers are designed for a relaxed look and feel, and therefore it is natural for some movement. While special fabrics have been selected to contain feathers, occasionally feathers can pierce through covers. Simply remove them by gently pulling them out.

  • Timber

Timber is sealed with a protective coating, therefore the only maintenance required is to regularly wipe timber with a clean damp cloth to remove dust and dirt. Oils or other polishes are not necessary. Do not soak or leave spills to sit on timber surfaces. Avoid contact with liquid, heat, and keep out of direct sunlight. Coarse cleaning products are not recommended.

  • Metal and natural stone/marble

Regularly wipe metal and stone with a soft, clean cloth to remove any surface particles which can abrade the surface. Avoid contact with liquids, heat, and direct sunlight. Marble and stone are porous materials that may even stain after it has been sealed. It may be necessary to regularly seal the surface depending on its use.

WARRANTY

Studio Pip products are suitable for commercial, hospitality and residential environments, and different warranties apply according to their particular product components and specified usage.

Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund fora major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure. Full details of your consumer rights may be found at www.consumerlaw.gov.au.

This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, soiling, fading, wrinkling or damage resulting from negligence, improper or lack of cleaning, accidents, misuse, or prolonged exposure to direct sunlight, or extreme heat or cold, not maintained properly or used after partial failure.

The warranty is also void if the product is tampered/altered with in any way, or if any repairs to a product by a service provider are conducted other than one approved by Studio Pip.

RESIDENTIAL WARRANTY

  • Upholstered Furniture 10 years

Your purchase is covered by a 10-year structural warranty specific to frames, springing, cushioning, and sewing only. This includes structural workmanship for furniture that has been subject to normal domestic use, and which has been sensibly maintained and used. Please note that upholstery sizes can have a variance of up to 10% and foam settling, leather and fabric stretching are normal occurrences and are not covered by this warranty.

  • Timber 2 years

Timber is covered by a 2-year warranty. This includes the structural reliability of non-upholstered items such as dining chairs, tables, desks, and storage. Solid timber is a natural product and is subject to environmental changes, that can cause shrinkage, expansion, bowing, splitting and colour changes, which cannot be warranted. Variations of grain and colour occur naturally, and these may be evident in the finished product. Additionally, timber finishes subject to everyday wear and tear are not covered by our warranty.

  • Natural Stone/Marble 1 year

This warranty covers any failure of our product due to any defect in fabrication or installation. The warranty does not cover damage caused by physical, chemical, or other abuse, normal wear, and tear, acts of nature, scratches, or chips.  Variations in natural stone are to be expected. Irregular markings, lines, veins, and crystallisation are not cracking or imperfections, but rather a natural part of the stone's beauty. Samples you view in our showroom or on our website may have completely different veining patterns or colour variations compared to the stone used in your final product. Natural stone is also porous, so guarantees against staining is not possible.

  • Fabric and Leather

We do not warrant fabrics or leathers as Studio Pip is not the manufacturer of these products. Fabric and Leather suppliers have their own warranties and any defects associated with these will be addressed on your behalf as best as possible.

COMMERCIAL WARRANTY

  • Upholstered 5 years

Your upholstered purchase is covered by a 5-year structural warranty. This covers the structural and workmanship of upholstered items in commercial environments. Please note that upholstery sizes can have a variance of up to 10% and foam settling, leather and fabric stretching are normal occurrences and are not covered by this warranty.

  • Other

All other items carry the same warranty as listed under Residential Warranty.

WARRANTY CLAIM

Warranty claims should be made by calling the place of purchase or Studio Pip on 1300 857 470. Alternatively, email info@studiopip.com.au within 14 days of the assumed defect occurring. You must complete a Warranty Claim Form and products must remain with their original purchaser to make a warranty claim.

This will require:

Your name, street address and phone number.

Order / invoice number as proof of purchase

•             Purchase Date, purchase location and product delivery address.

•             Product name and condition

•             Details in writing of the defect claimed, including photos where possible.

Subject to Australian Consumer Law, this Warranty does not apply to any products sold as seconds, floor stock, repaired products, or products that have a defect where this has been drawn to the customer's attention before the purchase of the product.

An inspection of the product is required to identify the reason and source of the fault. Studio Pip will assess the product to determine the nature of the issue, whether you are entitled to a remedy, and the remedy that will be made available to you, in accordance with our Terms and any applicable Australian consumer law. If an inspection is required to determine the nature and cause of the issue, this will be conducted by a Studio Pip representative at a mutually convenient time. The warranty covers the cost involved in the repair but excludes any transport or freight costs associated with the claim.
